JUGHEADS

[Back to Paul's Platform main selection page] May 2008 The Range of Our Membership
I've written
and spoken so much in recent weeks that I feel like there's no adequate
way to summarize this school year and the experience we all had with JJ10.
However, one theme has recently risen to the surface: while we're a collective
company of youth and families, it's the breadth and depth of individual
personalities and life perspectives among our membership that make our
company so special. On the more public, award-winning end, there are our
Ultimate Club members, letter-winners, IJA medalists, and graduates. On
the more personal, less-lauded end, there are those who "simply"
see JH as a vital part of their childhood & adolescent identity despite
average skills and fewer moments in the spotlight. Every company and organization
has its focal personalities, but speaking for JUGHEADS, we would not be
where we are today without both the rare, high-achievers and the more
common, faithful base of kids who cause our weekly clubs, annual show,
and success as a company to thrive. It's an all-American virtue to root
for the underdog, and it's a godly virtue to root for the meek of heart.
I'm so glad that there is a place in JH for both the meek and the mighty,
and each child offers a different kind of joy. Have a blessed summer with
your families. |
