JUGHEADS

(We) Did For Love
The Broadway musical A Chorus Line has objectionable content and should be viewed or listened to with discretion. However, the modern-day fictional glimpse into the life of a performer is heart-stirring and has many parallels to those of us who make a regular habit, hobby or lifestyle out of performing, even if its just once a year for Juggle Jam. We perform not merely to get attention, glory, or for any other narcissistic tendencies. We perform simply because its part of us, part of our identity, prominent among the gifts given to us. The ballad What I Did For Love is all about the love for the theatre, but thats where the parallel breaks down a bit. In my view,
the kids, parents and Arnebergs endeavoring to lead Juggle Jam V are doing
it primarily for a different kind of love--a love for each other. The
goal is that every Jughead involved in the show can see to merit of performing
for each others sake, not merely for the sake of themselves. At
the same time, theres something magical about each Jughead receiving
15 Seconds of Fame in their individual club routine and in
the slide show. Its an experience that shapes many of them for years
to come, perhaps for a lifetime. Thats what Juggle Jam V is all
about. It really is a labor of love, especially for the officers &
parent volunteers leading it. The icing on the cake is audience approval,
and if this year is like our previous seven, we hope to blow away
our spectators with the one-two punch of entertainment and evidence of
youth development.
